Artist/Mother; Mother/Artist
If you’re a mom, you may need to read this post from Luann Udell: We Can Always Use Another Hero.
And if that resonates with you, then you simply must see this film, “Who Does She Think She Is?”
Here’s how the film makers describe it:
“The film follows five women artists as they navigate the economic, psychological, and spiritual challenges of making work outside the elite art world. From Hawaii’s Big Island to the suburbs of Ohio, from New York City to the deserts of New Mexico, we watch as these women—ranging in age from 27 to 65—fight to honor their vision and their families every day.”
Check for a screening in your area, or buy the film for the new lower price, it’s under $25.00.
I absolutely love this film. If you’re a woman and an artist, you need to see it.

This was timely for me. Thank you!
During a weekend class, I was ‘texted’ by my daughter and husband more than one. Today I spent a good deal of the day attending to household issues inclusive of an extra drive to school to drop off a forgotten thing. On the drive I heard myself growl in frustration; ‘while she is at school it is my work time’; I am an artist, I am a mom, – the circumstance made all the worse by an urgent need to figure a way to create money . . . ‘if I get this new work on the site, maybe someone will buy something’.
It’s 10ish pm . . . after dinner and homework I am processing photos I finally got to take and mayhaps a miracle will occur in a timely way
Thanks again for sharing this!
Thanks for the comment Delia! Glad you like the resources. Good luck with the continuing challenge.
