Marco Fleseri Publishes BronzClay Firing Experiments

Atlantis No. 6 by Marco Fleseri
Marco has taken the time to document his experiments with firing BronzClay and CoPPRClay and has generously created pdf files to share that knowledge with the metal clay world.
Get your printer paper ready, these are definitely print-worthy.

Both your articles (bronze and copper clay firings)are really well explained and useful. However, I must be pretty lucky as I have never (yet!) had sintering problems firing bronze clay. I use the longer, covered schedule and I mix quite large pieces with quite small skinny pieces, all in the same crowded pan, 3 layers of pieces sometimes.
The one difficulty I find with bronze clay is joints. It doesn’t like to attach to itself. I use thick slip (which, by-the-way, has never oxydized, and i keep using the same container, adding to it just like silver clay), but i think your point about making joints into soft clay is a good one which has worked for me too. For example, I join a bail onto the back of a large pendant while it is completely fresh, still in the mold, and let it all dry in place before removing from the mold. I have used a pre-formed dry bail, and also fresh clay bail.
Thanks for all your experiments!
Thanks so much, I’ll pass your compliments on to Marco!
